The 2012 elections returned President Obama to the White House, and Democrats continue to control the Senate. But Republicans still control the House, and we see more attacks on those who are struggling, more votes to repeal Affordable Health Care, more attacks on women's reproductive rights, more stand offs over budgets; one crisis after another.

  • In case you missed it, North Carolina has lost all of their extended unemployment benefits.  States are required to follow the federal government's rules to collect extended unemployment benefits on behalf of their people.  The Republican North Carolina state legislature refused to do this by cutting back on unemployment benefits below the level required by the federal government.  About 70,000 people in North Carolina were kicked off of extended unemployment benefits the first week of July.  More HERE.
